Skirmish Paintball Centre Ipswich our History
Skirmish paintball games signed the lease for their new Ipswich paintball centre in January of 2009, the paintball venue had previously been run by David Baldry under the name of Anglia Sporting Activities for the last 20 years. David’s business interests had taken him in a different direction, and he had to make a choice, re invest in the paintball centre and continue, or focus on his new adventure. Mike Mason from Skirmish Paintball Games heard that David had this choice to make, and offered to take the paintballing venue on as they had been looking for a paintball venue in Suffolk, it has now been transferred to the Skirmish Paintball Network.
One of the first decisions of the Skirmish Paintball network was to total rebuild the paintball park in the skirmish format, which has proved a popular business model.
Skirmish paintballing games tend to play smaller games than most paintball companies, but have several paintball games running at the same time, this meant that the existing fields at the Suffolk centrewere to large for the skirmish format, but could be adapted for our game plans.
The base camp is built round 4 ex shipping containers, laid out in such away that low value items can be left on site in situ rather than put away, with the doors just being locked.
A crew of ten men went to the new Suffolk Ipswich paintball centre for 5 days to construct the site. They had the base camp, and six paintball fields to complete, and broke the back of the job in five days, returning with a smaller crew of five men for two days to complete construction.
The first game at the new Skirmish Ipswich Paintball centre is booked for the 2 of may 2009.
Five months on from constructing the Suffolk paintball centre near Ipswich, Mike Mason, one of the directors of Skirmish Paintball Ltd, stated that the Suffolk Paintballing venue was showing promising signs, and that all the customers and been very pleased with the level of service and the professionalism shown by the Staff.
They also enjoyed the variety of fields, and the Skirmish Paintballing policy of playing several small games at the same time rather than one big game.
